Mentor leadership is a lost art that is essential to the foundation of a strong, united and compassionate community.
We live in a fast-paced culture, full of distraction, moving from one activity to the next in a seamless fashion with little time for rest, reflection or wholesome fellowship. It is just as important to give our time, counsel and guidance to the young adults in our area as it is to give it to our own families. Our children are heavily influenced by the culture of an area and the friends they make will effect their decisions and habits. If we make the time to serve our community by mentoring our youth, everyone benefits from it and our example will echo for generations to come.
“Tell me and I forget, teach me and I may remember, involve me and I learn.”
– Benjamin Franklin
“Remember that mentor leadership is all about serving. Jesus said, “For even the Son of Man came not to be served but to serve others and to give his life as a ransom for many” (Mark 10:45).”
