“Generation You-nity”

Heroin and prescription drug addiction is at epidemic levels in our communities, and mental health is becoming one of the single largest challenges the next generation will face. As a community, we have the resources to make a difference. We have the people and the ability to choose “unity” over division, and action over apathy. I believe if we were to unify mission with ministry we can have an event that will inspire, educate and train our young people. And, we can then follow up with them through the ministries and other resources already in place.

Help.Sorry.Love NFP is teaming up with many of the churches and community leaders in the Fox Valley area to host an event that will offer the young people of our communities a foundation of hope, love and unity they can build upon to make for a better way forward. This 2-day ecumenical event at Elgin Community College will provide information and resources targeting young people ages 16-22. Attendees will hear from mental health professionals, church leaders, as well as personal testimonials from local community members about the greatest challenges that face our youth today. Our objective is to inform and unify the participants to propel them forward together. In addition to structured sessions, there will be live inspiring and encouraging music, performed by local and regional talent, and nationally known Christian artists.

Workshop Programing: Mind, Body, Spirit

Each workshop will focus on a component of physical, mental or spiritual health.

Workshops will be lead by professionals in their field, and reflect the values of healthy living that can safeguard against addiction. While these informational, hands-on workshops can be beneficial for mind, body and spirit, we believe there is no substitute for an intimate relationship with Jesus Christ. The theme “All Roads Lead to Christ” will be woven into each of these workshops.
